Inspired by one of the world’s greatest inventors, the Nikola Tesla – Mind from the Future multimedia exhibition project will be presented from 25 November 2017 to 20 March 2018 in the Meštrović Pavilion.

The Nikola Tesla – Mind from the Future exhibition aims to establish Tesla as Croatian cultural heritage and promote and encourage artistic excellence, originality, inventiveness and the use of state-of-the-art technologies in visual arts to raise Croatian artistic creativity to a new global level.

This futuristic spectacle following Nikola Tesla’s vision is a result of ten years of original work by the globally recognized and award-winning author Helena Bulaja Madunić, as well as a group of international and local artists endeavoring to achieve synergy between science and art by combining film, animation, video art and technical innovation. The multimedia exhibition will present Tesla’s life journey from his birth to his reflections in the modern world in a completely new way, by showing a perspective yet uninvestigated. After 11 years of traveling across the world, Helena Bulaja Madunić’s cross-media documentary film titled Mechanical Figures, inspired by Nikola Tesla, became a spatial gallery installation designed to physically take visitors on a tour of Tesla’s mind. To allow this, the circular gallery area in the Meštrović Pavilion will transform into the Hotel of Future modeled after Gaudi’s Hotel Attraction project that was never implemented, where both Tesla’s mind and many other Nikola Tesla’s and our contemporaries reside. Sascha Machiedo, an industrial designer and museum consultant having over 20 years of experience in art, culture and business projects and exhibitions across the world, was appointed Project Director. The international exhibition team comprises Max Pinucci and Elena DeglˈInnocenti including their team from the MBVision and Animation Lights Project design and interactive preaching studios of Tuscany, having extensive experience in designing innovative preaching & exhibition events created using state-of-the-art technologies. The team also includes Miguel E. Delgado, a renowned Spanish author and curator and one of the main curators for the largest biographic exhibition on Nikola Tesla’s life set up in Madrid in 2014. The Organizam art group including the Babushke design studio led by Marija Juza and Bernarda Cesar takes credit for the innovative electromagnetic visual design of the exhibition. Iva Silla, storyteller, Hana Šoštarić, illustrator, Dinka Pavelić, architect, Nada Horvat, writer, Lovro Krsnik, film director, photo studio Romulić-Stojčić, and Marko Fuček, stage modeler and designer, are some of the close associates and assistants to Helena Bulaja Madunić, who are also actively involved in the preparation of the exhibition. At the exhibition, they will be joined by a group of newly selected artists of all generations inspired by Tesla. They are: Mile Blažević, Pero Jelisić, Nikola Vudrag, Ida Blažičko, Vitar Drinković, Alma Trtovac, Ivana Ožetski, Patricija Purgar, Janko Ivčić, Ivan Kujundžić and Alana Kajfež.

Real Grupa, a full-service marketing communication agency comprising a team of 70 employed professionals successfully coordinating activities on as many as seven markets, is the production company assigned to the project, also responsible for its promotion,

The native coastal populace usually hunts for squid during autumn and winter, when they are scarce in number, but are also larger and more succulent than those that are caught in the summer. Also, fresh squid is very healthy since it is rich in high-quality proteins, fats, and other valuable micronutrients. Squid are a mainstay of Mediterranean cuisine and can be prepared in numerous different ways – raw, grilled, sautéed, or fried. You can even stuff them, which is made easier by their unique shape.

Festival Jazz.hr

The 27th anniversary of Jazz.hr festival will take place from 18-21 October in the „Blagoje Bersa“ Concert Hall at the Academy of Music in Zagreb while presenting a series of prominent jazz musicians and bands. This festival already hosted many jazz stars such as Maria Schneider, Vienna Art Orchestra, Miroslav Vitous, James Carter, Charles Lloyd, Monty Alexander, James Morrison, Jon Faddis, New York Voices, Jean Luc Ponty, Richard Bona, Michel Camilo, Charles Tolliver, Randy Brecker, Vijay Iyer and Lee Konitz. The organizer, Croatian Composers’ Society insists on their concept of promoting of the current Croatian and European jazz scene.

The unconventional septet of Austrian musicians Shake Stew that consists of interesting improvisers and personalities of the new European jazz scene will be the opening the festival. They are currently promoting their new album „The Golden Fang“ which is based on the rich sound, a wide range of musical ideas and influences that include various forms of art.

Polish Tomas Chyla Quintet, counting the best young Polish musicians who have collaborated with famous artists, redefines mainstream jazz by giving it an honest and romantic air. The audience in Zagreb will be able to hear their songs from the album „Eternal Entropy“, published this year.

This year's edition of Elvis Stanić project Jazz Ex Tempore will be exploring the sounds of „Northern Silence“. Musicians with two completely different, but in some segments very similar musical traditions, will tell and exchange their stories in order to create entirely new music on the spot and on the trail of the best traditions of both worlds. The musicians are connected through the common language of jazz, used by all, differing in accent.

Eric Reed Trio's performance will be the closing the festival. During his career, Reed has collaborated with renowned jazz musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Clark Terry, Elvin Jones, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Dianne Reeves and Cassandra Wilson. He recorded approximately 30 albums with his own and other bands. Reed also works as a composer and writes music for the film industry. As is his music for the comedy “Life” with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence.

The Jazz Ex Tempore is an intercultural and educational project which deals with traditional music heritage.

The starting point is the search for similarities and differences in traditional music expression that later merge into modern jazz music, with key idea being the one on preservation of cultural heritage and cultural identity.

Jazz Ex Tempore is a meeting of the significant artists from several countries which compose, rehearse and play along the new and original repertoire during a one-week event. Each of them brings their own traditional music idioms and original compositions, that are going to be explored together, interactively rearranged, rehearsed, and performed at the end of the meeting.

This year's edition of the Jazz Ex Tempore project explores sounds of the "Northern Silence" - it deals and compares a Croatian and Norwegian music tradition, interpreted by the language of Jazz.

Musicisans from two completely different (even in some segments also very similar) music tradition, will tell their story, share it together and will create a new music, on the spot - combining the best from both worlds.

The connecting factor is a common language, the language of the jazz - which they all speak fluently, everyone with their own accent - creating a colorful difference in a common expression and creation of the new music.
